Classroom information for
I hope you will have an enjoyable
school year full of great new learning adventures. In order for all of
us to work together cooperatively and have a safe learning enviornment,
the following classroom procedures are important to read, understand and
follow. During the first two days of school we discussed the following
procedures, as well as where students will find the needed materials for
each class. I have also included each individual class syllabus for information
specific to those courses.
Entering the classroom:
Please enter the classroom
using a quiet voice.
Prepare for the daily work by getting
out the needed materials, working on the daily warm-up, writing down assignments
in your planner, and getting out your homework.
In E-1, you will be in your seat
ready to learn before the 5 minute pass has ended. You are considered tardy
if you are not in your seat ready to work by the end of the 5 minute pass.
(Refer the the sign "On Time Means")
Class dismissal :
If it is an excused tardy, please
enter quietly, place the tardy slip in the homework basket and sit down.
If you need to talk with me, please
wait until the end of class.
If it is an unexcused tardy I will
follow the school policy for being tardy. Please refer to your student
As your teacher, I am the person
who will dismiss the class.
To show respect to whomever is
speaking to the class, please wait for the cue from the teacher to pack
up and prepare to be dismissed.
Office or Restroom
As stated in the student plannner,
cell phones may be used before and after school. They are not to be on
in class, or used during 5 minute pass, breaks, or lunch. I will follow
the school guidelines and consequences for cell phone use during the school
Being prepared/Having materials
Trips to the office will be decided
on an individual basis.
Please take care of your restroom
needs during the 5 minute pass. I will allow only one interruption
from your class time a month. (We will discuss earning free passes.)
If you need to speak to your couselor,
fill out the counselor request form found at Student Services during your
5 minute pass, break, or lunch. You will be blue-slipped from class when
the counselor is able to see you.
Use your planner
You are responsible to bring your
own pencil, pen and paper.
You are responsible for having
a section in your binder for each class (except Study Skills).
Please sharpen pencils at the beginning
of the class.
Your are responsible to find out
what work you missed when you were out of class. Please get the necessary
materials and complete it in a timely manner. You have 1 day for each day
you were absent to make up work.
You are responsible to complete
all assignments and turn in on or before the due date.
Every class, every day you will
write down assignments in your planner.
Ask the teacher or your parent
to check it and sign it.
If you do not have homework, write
the word "none" or "NHW" or something to let you know you really did not
If you missed an assignment, call
a study partner, look at the teacher's web site, or ask to see the study
skills teacher planner.

In order to have a positive learning
environment all of us need to practice daily and follow these procedures.
"Give me Five" or "READY"are verbal
cues to stop what you are doing and give full attention to the speaker.
Follow directions the first time
they are given. A cue to remember this expectation is staff stating, "That
was a teacher direction".
If you are done with your work,
make a wise choice and work quietly so that others may finish their work.
